Selection of fire rating of cable tray

To ensure proper fire protection in the use of cable trays, it is recommended to incorporate fire-resistant or flame-retardant materials to close or semi-close the structure in the cable ladder and tray. This can include using boards, nets, and other materials. Additionally, it is suggested to apply fire-resistant coatings on the surface of the bridge, support, and hanger. It is essential to meet the fire-resistant requirements outlined in the relevant national codes and standards. It is not recommended to use aluminum alloy cable trays in areas with high fire protection requirements.

The cost of a flame-retardant cable tray is 2.2 times higher than that of a steel cable tray, but it offers a service life that is more than five times greater. The weight of the flame-retardant cable tray is also 30% heavier than the steel cable tray. On the other hand, a fire-proof cable tray is only slightly more expensive than a steel cable tray, but has a service life that is more than three times longer. Additionally, the weight of a fire-proof cable tray is almost identical to that of a steel cable tray.
